White Peach and thyme simple syrup
Sort of seems random to start with. It’s not even liquor right!?! Well I did this to make a point. I use to look at recipes with random syrups or teas. I would think “where am I suppose to find that?” In many cases I have been able to find them on the web. Obviously Amazon or Etsy are good places to start. At least for the basic flavors. You can even find links through pages of cocktail content such as Instagram. But in many cases you can make it yourself. A basic simple syrup recipe can be used for any flavor. Here’s my recipe for the above syrup.
1 cup water and 1 sugar 1 white peach chopped up and 4 springs of thyme. Bring all to a boil and stir constantly until all sugar is dissolved and strain. Now you have a killer simple syrup to make make fancy cocktails to impress your friends.
Now you can take those basics and apply them to any syrup. Add Raspberries, jalapeños, lavender to 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water.
Now let’s present this syrup as a cocktail. This is not my original recipe. This is from a woman I follow and get alot of my inspiration from @join_jules.
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz white peach thyme syrup
- 1/2 oz creme de Violette
- 1 egg white
- Ice
Add all ingredients except for ice. Dry shake for 10 seconds. Add ice shake vigorously. Strain in a coupe glass. Garnish with edible flower.
Now this is not how I started off but this where I am now.
Hope you like my first post!
