All the Small Things

So everyone has been requesting cocktails for the fall season. I don’t have much in fall flavors in my bar so I saw this as an opportunity. As I said in my post What’s in your Stash, if you’re not sure about a product skip on over to your local mini bottle section. I did this to test out some flavors. These are what I came up with.

Easy as making Pie

So what is the first thing I think about at the beginning of fall? I’m thinking about baking. The oven on all day spreading the smells of cookies, cakes and pies. So I decided to stick with that theme. So now I’ve decided I’m going to do 2 pies. I took a peak at my local liquor store’s small bottle display to get inspiration

What do we do now?

I looked at what was available and I waited for something to get my attention then I went from there. I made sure everything was interchangeable. I mean it’s a few small bottles. Not much of a gamble. If it’s good you can always get more. The flavors should compliment each other. Stick to 1 or 2 cocktails. Only get ingredients good for those drinks. Don’t get side tracked. With that being said

Let’s make some cocktails

Peach Pecan Pie

  • 1 oz Bacardi Gold
  • 1 oz Old Camp Peach Pecan whiskey
  • 1 oz Revel Stoke Roasted Pecan whiskey
  • 1 oz peach simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz maple syrup
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 dehydrated clementine wheel for garnish

Add all ingredients to shaker.  Dry shake for about 10 seconds. Add ice and shake 15-20 seconds. Strain with hawthorne. Garnish with clementine wheel.

This one is surprisingly smooth. The flavors are all subtle but present.

Caramel Apple pie

  • 1 oz Evan Williams Spiced Apple Cidar
  • 1 oz Smirnoff Caramel kissed vodka
  • 1 oz Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple Pie whiskey
  • 1 1/2 cold pressed Apple cidar
  • 1 oz apple cidar syrup
  • 1 slice of lemon
  • S
  • Cinnamon sugar for rim
  • Dehydrated Apple slice for garnish

Rub lemon slice (hold on to it) on the rim of the glass and dip in cinnamon sugar. Add liquors, syrup, cidar and squeeze lemon slice into mixture. Then add ice and shake. Strain and garnish with apple slice.

And there you have it folks. 2 pie themed cocktails for fall born from the mini bottle section. Now go out there and make some pies!
